Well, this is long overdue... *awkward*
His personality now:
Foing is a bold fellow, and perhaps a bit boastful. He often gets overconfident, putting himself in situations he can't possibly get himself out of. While is does have the strength and agility of an Animist, he is not known for those characteristics. Even in a fight with a human, he only has a moderate chance of defeating his opponent. Despite his deficiencies in combat, he likes to challenge people to fights, and violence is his first resort. Perhaps Foing doesn't realize that his true strength lies in his mind. He has exceptional problem-solving skills, and he often has to act quickly in order to defuse heated situation between two other people. This empathy and ability for moderation results from his unorthodox schooling.
His previous life:
Foing was born in a time of great overturning, in which the tables were tipping, and the amount of Experimentalist Animists was on the rise. His parents, two members of the Thilk'o caravan (the biannual Southern forest route one), realized that if Foing was to do well in the coming years, he would need a more human education. You see, Foing's parents were very smart, and thus were very wealthy by the time Foing was born. They hired a human tutor, who taught Foing much history, as well as an array of other topics. He learned the art of oratory. He became a skilled writer, and could read well (many Animists never became literate).
Scant years after Foing became an adolescent, a great movement of Experimentalists uprooted Conversative culture and started a sort of cultural revolution. They moved out and established businesses and families in the human cities. Foing took the opportunity and set up a human-transport-based trading company that gamed the discrepancies between the markets. It wasn't long, however, before others tried to get in on this profitable scheme. In an attempt to guard his now-large company, he hired a force of privateers to control the trade lanes. One thing led to another, and soon the conflict had scaled up. Gangs working for competing companies were causing daily bloodbaths in the streets.
Foing's company, General Products, quickly grew out of his control, as well. It became an umbrella company, sponsoring a lot of startups that Foing had interest in. General Products had become tyrannical though, and the world was suffering under its invisible and manipulative grip. Sitting in glowstone-lit square of Nova on New Years, he realized that it was his responsibility to destroy what he had created. He spent a month finding the location of General Product's secret lair. Then, one night, he crept in past the security and slaughtered everyone even tangentially related to the bureaucratic structure of the company.
Over the next year, everything related to General Products slowed, and then stopped. The natural order resumed, and Foing faded into obscurity. However, he is not done with life, and works in the background, going on any adventure he can find, and inspecting the current state of affairs. He will often drop in and provide some insightful advice to the next influential leader. He spends his off-time forming brilliant ideas and writing essays.
(to come) His run-in with the gods:
