This is it. If you have any questions about anything RP related, or have previously had a question that got answered, post it here. I mean RP death, communication, Ancients giving spawned materials, or whatever!
Can you explain how RP death works?
Ingame death is, IC, a KO. That is, your character loses consciousness and is returned to their bed, or they drag themselves home, etc. This, obviously, has many problems with it. Just ignore them. This is the best way to do it.
It is harder for your character to die. A perma-death must be a pre-arranged event, although nobody except the killer and the victim must know about it. Both parties must agree. If it is a suicide, then you must PM me on the forums.
After your character dies, you must submit a new character bio ASAP. Until it is approved, you are a generic member of your race. You cannot participate in any specific RP events, and other characters have no previous memory of any encounters with you. That is, you are a stranger to everyone you meet. YOUR NEW CHARACTER MUST BE OF THE SAME RACE AS YOUR OLD ONE.
The return of your items is not guaranteed. Just because you fell into lava doesn't mean that you get your diamond tools back. You should have been more careful.
Also, how is a lava death IC?
This is one of the holes in the KO idea. If alone, it can be a hallucination and in reality merely passed out. If you are with other people, they could have pulled your burned body from the lava or stopped you from falling when you passed out. Honestly, just ignore it.
Can Emergents infect other people?
The rules surrounding infecting is similar to perma-death. Both parties must agree, and there must be a substantial RP reason for the infection. Mere contact with an Emergent is not a reason to be infected.
Once the victim has been infected, he doesn't have to write a new bio, but he doesn't retain memory of his previous life. Other people may recognize him though.
What race changes are allowed?
No race changes are allowed without my permission. For in-RP changes:
"It is possible for a human to turn into a crimson or an emergent, but it is not allowed unless I give specific permission."
How do large RP events work?
I don't exactly know. They just happen. We'll definitely have to work this out.
How can I suggest a large RP event?
Make a thread or send me a PM. Do not start to plan it out in-game without first getting my go-ahead, because I will most likely just shut it down. Note: The more planned out and flexible your idea is, and the more open to suggestions you are, the more likely your idea is to be executed.
And isn't it a requirement that airships must look like something that could actually fly?
Yes, airships must either have sails, a large balloon, or anti-ballast, which is like a bunch of small balloons all around the hull. Airships also shouldn't be made of something heavy, like obsidian or pistons. Cobblestone is ok, but not for the entire thing.
How does the monetary system work?
The governors have a large amount of money that they can delegate as they see fit. Talk to your governor for details.
Can I destroy buildings during attacks?
A certain amount of burning is acceptable. However, leveling a town without prior permission is undesirable. Pillaging the structures is also OK.
Am I allowed to rob people?
Highway banditry is only acceptable if your character is an outright outlaw. It is better to intimidate people into giving goods than killing them. If they try to fight you then they are open game.
Am I permitted to build floating structures?
Floating structures have to have a story behind them. A random floating house is unacceptable, but an enchanted island, mechanical research station, spatially locked structure, apocalyptic artifact, or any other equally understandable bullshit is fine. Connecting floating structures with fluid makes it more acceptable, although make sure it fits with the story and style.
