"And the Prophet Animus said 'Men wage war. We do not. We are artists, in all things, fighters in none'"
From the Book of Animus.
The Animists believe in the creation of the world by four spirits, Earth, Water, Fire, And Air. After building the planet, they wanted in creatures to live there. Earth made the forms out of clay, and each spirit blessed an animal. Water blessed the squid, letting it live in here depths. Air blessed two animals, the chicken, giving it semi-flight, and the sheep, letting it wear the clouds around it. Fire blessed wolves, giving them their rage. Earth blessed the pigs, giving them his love for the earth. And they all helped with cows, because no one could think of what to do with them. Then the other races came. The spirits didn't know where they had come from, but they were destroying that which they had worked so long to make. They each agreed, and stole an entire city of humans, changing them into half animal half men. At first these people were lost, having no past memory of themselves, until one rose up to lead them. He was the prophet Animus. The spirits spoke to him, told him that he must lead his people over the world, teaching the other races about beauty, art, and replanting trees. So they did. They were nomads for hundreds of generations, Animus passing down his leadership down to the most worthy of his followers, who became the first Disciple of Animus. Each head Disciple passed down his leadership to whoever he deemed most worthy. Over hundreds of generations, the title has been passed down to Bloberis, who lead his people across the world for many years, until he found this land. Here, there were more races living close together than he had ever seen before. He decided that the Animists would make their first ever settlement here, as a base for their travels and and a center of art for the entire world.
While not entirely true, this is what Animists believe. "Animus" is really the first Bloberis. He was the one who took the city of humans and changed them, but his gods sanctioned the act and gave him the power to carry it out. He then became Animus and led them. His three sons were the only ones to know the truth, but eventually that truth was lost even to their lines.
