Character's Name: Keyalvis
Character's Age: 21
A short description of your character's demeanor, style, etc:
Keyalvis is an introvert, preferring seclusion and quiet. Being raised among royalty, he naturally has sensible manners and may be quick to scold those that are rude to him, however, he does not look down upon others. He is somewhat socially awkward due to the way he was raised (see bio), and may frequently stay quiet in social situations. Keyalvis is patient and easy going, never looking to create conflict. He is also artistic, enjoying painting, architecture and natural scenes.
A short biography of your character:
Keyalvis is the younger half brother of Serinas. He is the bastard son of the king of his homeland, and Serinas's mother. When her pregnancy was discovered, the king made arrangements for the baby (keyalvis) to be taken away to live in the castle tower, where he would be raised and hidden from the public. Keyalvis spent his early years being tutored daily in religion. His forced studies did nothing to convince him that religion was worth pursuing, and began to despise his lack of free will. At the age of 13, his religious training was complete, and he was able to pursue interests of his own. He began reading books of all varieties and learning about the world. The more he learned, the more he began to distrust the religion he had been taught, over time he lost faith entirely. When he wasn't reading, he spent his time looking out his window at the surrounding town and landscapes, and at the clouds. He soon began to draw what he saw, and observe the different buildings, creating a love of art and architecture. As his abilities increased, he began sending servants to sell his paintings in the market. Over the next few years, using this as a source of income, he saved up his money.
One day, an unfamiliar woman came to see him. She was the first visitor that he had ever had, and although he had occasionally practiced conversing with his servants, it was quite awkward to meet someone who didn't serve him. She told him that she was his mother, and that he had a brother, Serinas, who had just sailed to new lands to escape religious persecution. She told him that he should follow in his brothers footsteps and escape as well. Before she left, she gave him a long length of rope to escape from the tower. That night, while the guard shift was changing, and taking only his savings and painting supplies, he tied off the rope and shimmied down the tower, escaping to the dock. He then checked the records to see where Serinas had gone, and which ship took him. He sought out the crew, and departed that very night for the new land, his heart full of the wondrous joy of freedom.
Some of the things your character hopes to do in the New World:
Live his own life, build a wonderful home where he may live in peace, experiment with agriculture, and continue to express himself through art.
