This is kind of a large, messy collection of Crimson information, whether it be lore or not.[/b]
Random Crimson Information
Timeline:
1) Ozzatron's 2.0 Bio. This occurs at around 3 BA. Serinas is 23 at this point.
2) Serinas teleports to the New World in 3 BA. TJRP 1.0 occurs.
- The labs, the predecessor to the Brotherhood, get created here.
- Serinas' fascination with Obsidian leads him to build the first ever Nether portal. When the labs members enter it, they are assaulted by Perious; with the assistance of Elysia's military forces, they overcome the guardian, severing one of his legs. Perious ascends to the sky, where he can now be found as a constellation. With him out of the way, the barrier between the Nether and the regular world is shattered. (Ancients were always able to access the Nether, but they never tried to make physical gateways to it; they just teleported themselves there.)
3) In 0 BA, the apocalypse happens.
4) Krios saves Serinas, Bloberis I, Keyalvis, and Arkantos (sort of) from the apocalypse. They go to TJRP 2.0 (the Ancient's homeland).
4) The Crimson Brotherhood is formally founded in 0 AA.
5) From 1 AA to 9 AA, the Tower of Thardus (ToT) is built, but not finished.
- In 6 AA, Serinas creates the Controlled Pig Roaster and fosters an intense hatred between the Crimsons and Animists... the cost of food. Mmm...
6) In 9 AA, Du Kybervarg occurs. Read up on that in the Ancient lore. During this, the Crimsons help out the Ancients at their expense; the ToT is neglected and is never completed.
- In 10 AA, Serinas, working with Keyalvis (of the Sys-Labs, not the Ancient by the same name), creates the first airship. These are then specialized and produced as weapons of war by human workforces. The controls at this point are mechanical and relatively difficult to use.
7) In 62 AA, Serinas Veldar dies at the age of 88. On his deathbed he tells his Brotherhood that some day, he will return, and that they need to bide their time. He also commands them to not modify the Tower of Thardus, despite its incompleteness, and instead to focus on scientific pursuits.
8) Du Kybervarg ends sometime between 100-120 AA. The Ancients are on the brink of extinction. (Ashwin might correct me here)
9) The Crimsons, being burned out from being at war for three generations, and not being under the guidance of their original leader, fall into decline. They become far less organized, but they invent many things. Despite their disorganization, they still manage to effectively carry out Serinas' will. This period lasts from 62 AA to 562 AA... exactly 500 years.
(This is the main part of Crimson history)
- In 127 AA, Maria Integra, the only female Crimson to date, compacts the stock logic gates AND, OR, XOR, and XNOR, into much smaller packages. These became known as integrated circuits, partly after her, partly by their design. It is interesting to note that she gave herself her last name as a pseudonym, having no idea what family she was born into; it is a "divine coincidence" that she went on to invent integrated circuits.
- Shortly afterwards, in 128 AA, Maria builds the hyper-compact airship control circuit which is still used today. Improvements were made to it later.
- In 166 AA, Cerelius Nadon perfects the art of using a Crimson's natural Redstone aura to mentally manipulate circuits; he describes it in great detail in three books. In his own words, he was "knocking on the door of telekinesis"; however, he inexplicably dies in 170 AA. Interest in the field of mental manipulation died as abruptly as he did.
- In 212 AA, Varian Harmoli invents the elevator. It is promptly installed inside the Tower of Thardus and makes the Brotherhood's lives much, much easier.
- In 220 AA, Varian adds the Liquid Defense System to the Tower of Thardus, although its defensive capabilities are not needed for hundreds of years.
- In 359 AA, Kastor Lorgon invents the Redstone-based drill. He improves it until 371 AA, when it is in a state where it can be used for industrial purposes. Between 371 and 372 AA, a massive, multi-kilometer drillshaft is dug out from the bottom of the Tower of Thardus.
- In 372 AA, the magma pressure overwhelms the walls of the drillshaft and a catastrophic magma flood fills the entire shaft as well as the entirety of B9 (Basment 9). Because of this horrible disaster, the current Source at the time, Saldiar Micros, orders the destruction of the drill and the burning of all drill knowledge. The drillshaft that was created is named the "Damned Drillshaft", but the materials acquired from it are kept.
- In 375 AA, Saldiar Micros creates the geothermal lava pump in B8/B9, which serves as the Tower of Thardus' power source until the present day.
- In 404 AA, an old and wizened Saldiar revisits the idea of mental manipulation and revives its popularity. He makes no major contributions, however.
- In 441 AA, a new member, Garen Jestia, adds a mental manipulation module to Maria's airship circuit. Airships can now be controlled with the mind. Garen attempts to add mental manipulation modules (MMMs) to other devices, but fails on every attempt. He tragically dies from having a slight seizure while mentally controlling an airship, causing him to fall to his death.
10) In 534 AA, Spawntown (still needs a name) is sacked in a war between Aurora and Nova.
11) In 562 AA, Serinas Veldar is resurrected by Krios, and resumes control of the Brotherhood. TJRP 2.0 officially starts here. At this point, Ersake is mayor of Aurora, Wilhelm Trusswell is mayor of Nova, Samahude leads the unknown Emergents, and Arkantos guides the fragments of his race that survived Du Kybervarg.
12) Also in 562 AA, the Emergents return, Nova is destroyed, and Isotoran is founded.
13) THE PRESENT
14) Sometime in the future (in the next few Minecraft years), the Tower of Thardus is finally finished.
Doctrine and Ethics
Within the Brotherhood, there is a strict code of mutual respect and tolerance. Additionally, members are expected to aid each other, especially in science. Respect takes preference over cooperation -- if a Crimson wants to research alone, he researches alone. In fact, many Crimsons prefer isolation as it helps clear the mind for philosophical or scientific thought.
Following Serinas' example, Crimsons do not trust backless money, thus, you cannot use either the Sol or the Myr to exchange with them. Instead, they use things with material value, especially diamonds (although for smaller transactions they will likely use iron or lapis lazuli). If you really want to, you can, as a Crimson, live in one of the human cities and use their currency; however, the Brotherhood will not take care of you as much as it would if you lived with the main group in the Tower of Thardus. By "take care of" I mean that you won't have as wide access to the many features of the tower, especially the public resources.
Serinas himself believes in a (from an OOC perspective) modified version of the Assassin's Creed: "Nothing is guaranteed true, and nothing is unethical." He generally doesn't consider the emotional ramifications of actions, but he doesn't completely lack empathy, either. Much like how you "never get between someone and their food", you "don't let anyone, or anything, get between you, your research, and its results." Serinas has often brushed aside people who think his methodology is immoral or even horrible.
For example, when he invented the controlled pig roaster (read: pig grinder), which basically cooked pigs alive, he faced tremendous opposition from the Animists. What did he do? Locked the meter-thick steel doors and kept right on testing. And in a sadistic streak, he installed air vents from B7 to the surface to torment the Animists with the squeals of their tortured, dying brethren inside what they now considered the Tower from Hell. Indeed, Serinas can have sadistic streaks. He's always been worried, too, that they are the result of his dark past...
Your character, on the other hand, is your character, and can have the personality you want. I'm just giving you the idea of what Serinas is like, because he is the True Source.

I really need some sleep.
Random Crimson Information
- Crimsons are infused/corrupted with Redstone. This has a multitude of effects. Primarily, they're physically weaker than everyone else. Their bodies generate Redstone naturally, and thus it collects in their inventories. When injured, they bleed Redstone (along with normal blood). Make sure your character's skin reflects this corruption (see below for possible ways to go about that).
- Depending on your personal corruption tastes, your character can exhibit a variety of Redstone effects, like glowing red eyes/veins, emitting red smoke through skin pores, having "infection scars" (possibly oozing with Redstone) or even in-RP reddish "auras".
- Other, in-RP side effects of the Redstone corruption include slight longevity (around 5-10% longer, most Crimsons live to be around 90), a greatly reduced risk of disease (but not food poisoning), and an immunity to Emergent infection. I think the last one is true, it's never happened in-RP.
- Finally, although I don't think this would EVER come up, Crimsons (of both genders, if we ever get a girl besides the historic Maria) are sterile. I'll let you figure out the rest... if you even want to think about it. Despite the advantages of sterility (if you're forced to have it, make use of it), Crimsons are averse to romance. (I might change this averseness later for the hell of it. Stay tuned.)
- The Brotherhood tends to refer to its leader as the Source. However, it does not hold the leader as a deity, spirit, or other supernatural figure; just as a leader. Thus, when you would say "the Mayor of Aurora" to refer to Ersake by position, you'd say "the Crimson Source" to refer to me in the same way. Once I took control again in 573 AA, the Brotherhood started calling me "the True Source" because I'm the founder. Nobody else refers to me as the True Source, however.
